Sobariah Binti Fozi

Originally from Ipoh, Perak, Puan Sobariah Binti Fozi is one of many individuals who have shown that success is not determined by experience alone, but by the willingness to learn and grow. In 2025, she joined Walter College through the Ekuinas Batch 5 Programme with a clear ambition to build a better future through professional hairdressing.

Her journey did not begin easily. Before enrolling at Walter College, she worked as an assistant at a barbershop. At the time, she had no basic knowledge of haircutting or the barbering and hairdressing industry.

However, she never allowed her lack of experience to stop her from learning and improving herself. Throughout her training at Walter College, Sobariah made the most of every opportunity given to her. She not only learned professional haircutting techniques and hairdressing skills, but was also introduced to barbershop and salon management, digital marketing strategies, and the use of social media to build a brand and attract customers. She put what she learned into practice and consistently applied these skills to the business she runs with her husband.

As a result of their continued efforts, she and her husband now successfully manage Squad Hair Studio in Bandar Sunway, Ipoh, Perak. Despite having only one branch, their achievement is remarkable. Before Sobariah enrolled at Walter College, their business recorded monthly sales of around RM10,000. After applying the knowledge and strategies she gained, their average monthly sales have increased to around RM32,000.

In addition to managing the business operations, Sobariah now also serves as the live host for Squad Hair Studio. Through social media, she engages with customers, promotes services and products, and builds trust in the brand they have developed.

Sobariah Binti Fozi’s story shows that everyone has the opportunity to change their lives when they are willing to learn, put in the effort, and apply what they have learned with commitment.
